Heather Hans, a successful psychotherapist, intuitive coach, spiritual guide, and business woman, believes in the power of total well-being to lead a successful and harmonious life. She has been assisting people who have the passion to succeed. According to her, if a person is creative, motivated, astute, brave, and has the innate desire to do something for the world, impossible is nothing.

Personally, Heather has achieved great levels of success in her life. Dedication, time, and accountability are the three building blocks if you want to achieve success and fulfill your dreams.

Five tips for a successful life by Heather Hans

1. Believe in yourself – Our desires are the stimulus of our thoughts. Therefore, whatever you have achieved so far has a direct relation to the fact that you had faith in yourself that you could do it. Once this undying faith is established, you can move on to other steps to obtain success.

2. Attain total health and healing – There is a strong interrelation between mind-body-spirit. Therefore, you should work on developing a harmony within your mind, body, and soul – the trio serves as the foundation for success. You can take help of self-help books and professionals in your goal to sustain a good physical, mental and spiritual health. Be diligent in your efforts and always trust your instincts.

3. Discover your inner desires – Explore within and find out your deepest desires. Together with your hard work, the law of the universe would also turn in your favor to let you accomplish your goals. Ascertain the goals that are in tune with your values. The law of attraction states that focusing on positive thoughts will give you positive results provided your goals are in harmony with the world. The universe will push you towards your goals if they sow the seeds of love and betterment of the world.

4. Align your goals and be brave – Positive thoughts can certainly help create a positive aura to achieve a goal but only intentions wouldn’t help. You need to work hard to create a blueprint of your goals. Create plans, seize the opportunities, develop a proactive nature and look for results. A number of factors would try to stop you from achieving your big dreams, these are mere roadblocks, ignore them. Diligently work towards your goal. Remember, if something is not happening as per your plan, a new plan would do the trick. Don’t give up at any step.

5. Enjoy your life – The whole exercise of dream fulfillment is to help you realize your inner desires and lead a happy life. So why not enjoy it while in the process of dream fulfillment. If you are enjoying the whole process, you would be more relaxed with your present state and hence will have renewed energy that will drive more creative ideas and results. Besides, what is more satisfying than enjoying life.

These five success strategies from Heather Hans can put you on the road to success. Follow these step-by-step to lead a harmonious life.

“I’m having a bad day!” is a fairly common refrain that we are all accustomed to hearing. Or, it may be something like “Oh, what a bad morning!”. If we reflect a bit on those two statements, we’ll realise that what we are expressing is our perception and judgement about the day. It is a qualitative/ subjective opinion that has the potential to ruin the entire day for you. All it takes is some mental adjustment- a shift in the frames of reference- and the very same ‘bad morning’ will seem so much better. That age-old positive thinking mantra- look at a bottle as half-full rather than half-empty- holds true as ever; here are some simple tips, adapted from a recent article on the Inc. website, to make that important mental shift to the positive side of things!

1. Accept that what’s happened has happened; don’t equate the past with the future. Just because something “bad” happened previously, don’t let your mind tell you it will happen again.

2. Avoid creating self-fulfilling prophecies: yes, it’s the flip side of the The Law of Attraction. Reinforcement of negative thoughts invariably leads to actions that yield negative or undesirable results. So, stop saying to yourself “it’s a bad day that can get worse” as that will happen eventually if you do!

3. Think “proportion”: in the big scheme of things ie. your life, how much of a big deal was the event that makes you rue the morning? Most things that we allow ourselves to get upset with are often so inconsequential that we might struggle to remember it a week or even a day from now. Taking a big picture view will really help put things in perspective.

4. Re-define the parameters of good and bad: For instance, just redefining a good day as one in which you are able to stand on your feet and a bad day as one in which you find yourself in a desolate island in an unknown corner of the world can make you feel so much better. Re-defining boundaries is known to do wonders in many facets of life, including business. That Jack Welch asked his senior managers to define their markets such that they couldn’t have more than 10-15% of market share is part of business folklore, the kind of re-definition that propelled GE to new heights.

5. Break the vicious pattern that your body and mind can get you into: We all know that a bad mood has an effect on the body, draining it of energy, which in turn worsens your mood and so on. Energise your body with some activity to break or prevent that vicious pattern from setting in.

6. Reinforce what’s going well; focus your mind on the positives around you. If only you were willing to look, you will find a lot more things going in your favor than against. List them and then make it a point to look at those again and again.

7. Build positive expectation – just as it is easy to be trapped by negative self-fulfilling prophecies, you can make it easy to expect and attract something positive. Expect and then believe that something wondeful is about to happen to you. Experience the change that this wonderful sense of anticipation can bring about.

This form of failure is one many people do, though they are mostly unaware of it. Happily, it is one that is, more often than not, easy to shift.

Wallace Wattles wrote that failure is caused by doing too many things in an inefficient manner and not doing enough things in an efficient manner.

Doing anything important or significant in an inefficient manner is not fully occupying the space you are here to fill . . . your most fulfilling life and life moments. It can be uncomfortable to realize a day has passed and you feel you did not accomplish what you wanted or needed to, or at least feel some level of success about your day. This does not mean you have to work your backside off to be efficient. In fact, overworking is a sure path to inefficiency.

Inefficiency can include
-Not having your mind fully on what you are doing
-Multi-tasking
-Allowing interruptions from the phone, email, and others
-Hurrying or rushing
-Trying or planning to do more than you can do realistically in a specific time period (overworking)
-Inadequate rest and recharge time
-Non-supportive self-talk

It is worth giving consideration to each of these as you think about how they are included in and affect the various areas of your life, both professional and personal.

Efficient action and the Law of Attraction
If you at all believe in Law of Attraction, as someone once pointed out, notice that the last part of the word “attraction” is action. If you desire a specific outcome, you are going to have to take specific action. Action is a clear sign to Source (God, the Universe, etc.) that you are ready to receive what you have asked for. Efficient action is a Very Clear Signal about this. Efficient action means your vision, goal, or ideal outcome is on your radar screen; and that is what you want the quantum field to help you fulfill.

Not having your mind fully on what you are doing
Well now, this one can certainly cause real problems from one end of the chaos spectrum to the other. What do you think the quality of your experiences and outcomes might be if you were 100 percent focused on anything you do?

Multi-tasking and allowing interruptions from the phone, email, and others
Multitasking was a buzzword for quite a while; and job descriptions sometimes listed it as though it was a skill (some still do, despite the evidence of its negative impact on productivity). There are times when you can, say, start something baking in the oven and then do something else while you wait, but that is not actually multi-tasking in the way usually meant by it. What really affects your productivity is when you attempt to do something that requires a steady line of thought, and you allow interruptions from others or engage in your own. You have to know how you work best and at your most productive if you intend to do anything efficiently. You are likely able to know if a significant number of experiences and results you have now demonstrate efficient action or inefficient.

Hurrying or rushing
When you hurry or rush, you are attempting to force something. Hurrying can mean either the time needed was not given sincere consideration and planned for, or that you may have an agenda attached to the action. Some people feel they validate their significance if they appear terribly busy, when the truth is there is no need to rush. Only on occasion is fast action required, but certainly not for everything. Of course, it should be obvious that dawdling is inefficient as well. Everyone has their most productive pace. Just note if you’re speeding ahead or dragging behind yours. Also important to know is whether or not staying busy is your natural state or if it isn’t. Neither is right or wrong; people have their own energy levels and needs to express them in ways appropriate for them.

Trying or planning to do more than you can do realistically in a specific time period
If you attempt to do in an hour or two what would take a day, or in a day or two what would take a week, unless you are Mr. Data from Star Trek, you are going to start to perform inefficiently at some point. If you do this for an extended time, you can experience burnout. Wattles pointed out that success happens more easily when we do what is needed efficiently each day; that it is not about how many things we get done, but about how efficiently we do what we do. You might say that some jobs demand speed, and you’d be right. But I also think you get the point he wanted to make: There is no satisfaction or success if you do a lot of things poorly, but there is satisfaction and success if you give your best (your best at the time) to whatever you do.

Inadequate rest and recharge time
Some people have massive amounts of energy, some have less; but everyone needs real time for their body, mind, and spirit to replenish. A body and mind in need of rest cannot work as efficiently as hoped or needed. If you need to rest or allow time to heal, and do, that is efficient as far as that specific action is concerned.

Non-supportive self-talk
This one can lead you to feel immobilized. Talk to yourself as you would a cherished friend you believe in.

Why is any of this important, beyond the obvious? Wattles said successful actions are cumulative in their results (I add, so are unsuccessful actions). Successful actions create successful outcomes. Efficient actions are successful actions. If your days end with you feeling unsatisfied, feeling you did not have even one thing to feel successful about, see if you are doing one or more of the inefficiency items. None of them should be impossible to adjust. Adjust as needed so you can support your successes. It is important to remember that your best will be different every day.

If any area of your life feels unfulfilling, consider any ways you may be managing or acting on them inefficiently.

You are what you practice.

‘If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them.’ —Henry David Thoreau

Imagination is the creative ability of your mind that helps you form an image of an object or an experience before you bring it to physical reality. The Power of imagination helps you visualize things that cannot be seen. Simply put, imagination is seeing through mental images. This power is inherent in all of us and can be developed to a very high level.

If you study the lives of great entrepreneurs, scientists and inventors, you will find that by using creative visualization they developed a strong mental picture of what they wanted to achieve. They used the Power of Imagination to give a tangible shape to their ‘inside picture’.

You too have the Power of Imagination. It is a myth that only a few people possess the Power of Imagination. Every human has it; you too have this power within you. It is just that you might not have developed it as much as an Einstein or an Edison. But with perseverance and practice, you can enlarge your Power of Imagination to achieve amazing things.

Think for a moment: you are what you are today because somewhere in the cycle of time in the past you imagined yourself to be what you should be.

And here you are. By the same logic, if today you imagine yourself to be somewhere in the future, that is where you will reach. Isn’t it amazing?

You have the Power of Imagination to change your existing reality. All you need to do is imagine a new set of exceptional images about yourself and keep reminding yourself that you have to achieve your goals.

By reorienting your mental images, you change your belief system. By reorienting your beliefs, you change your expectations about yourself. By reorienting your expectations, you change your attitude. By reorienting your attitude, you change your behavioural patterns. By reorienting your behavioural patterns, you change your performance level. And by reorienting your performance level, you change your life.

Two Action Steps:

Step 1: Create a mental screen. Find a quiet place and sit in a relaxed manner. Look at your surroundings and then close your eyes. Think of your mind as a film screen that helps you recreate the things you saw just moments earlier. To begin with, repeat this process four or five times a day.

Step 2: Prepare the mental screen to visualize thoughts as pictures. As your mental screen becomes strong, you can visualize things with ease. You can prepare it to play films of past and future events. As you train your mind, you will gradually develop the ability to visualize things even while your eyes are open.

Success Mantra: Visualize what you want to achieve and create a strong mental image of your goals. Hold these images till you make them come true.

Enjoy the process without worrying about the outcome, she says.

**************
If given a chance, will you try to find passion in your job or to make your passion your job?

I believe those who had tried and/or are still trying to find passion in their job, will find it hard to succeed. In any part of our life, we are always being told what we should do and what we should not do. But how do these people who tell us know exactly what we like to do and what we are actually good at? Take for example, Mother A tells her son that he should pursue a business degree because it is essential for him to climb the corporate ladder. Or, Father B tells his son to study medicine because most of their family members are in the medical industry. Mother C tells her daughter to study law because she can earn good money and have a good living standard. Mother D tells her son to stay put in his current job, regardless of his unhappy situation there, just because it is hard to find a job in a tight economic situation. Many of them remain unhappy because they have to find passion in their job, which is hard.

Imagine this. You are sitting on your couch, thinking about what you really like to do, your life purpose and passion. Suddenly you see the light and you know what you want in life. Do you have the courage to pursue it? What are the fears and worries? Do you start questioning yourself with the “what if”, “how” and the “but”? Are these the subjects that are stopping you from initiating your first step to your life purpose?

The person in you who questions you with the “what if”, “how and “but” is your ego. Your ego hates to see you being awakened and be yourself. He is always trying to stop you from pursuing your own happiness. He tries very hard to associate you with him. Therefore, in order to be able to handle this false identity, you need to separate yourself from your ego. Once you are able to separate yourself from your ego, you will be able to put your mind at ease and pursue the life you want.

Next, start working on the passion and seize opportunities. Turn your passion to competency. If you need to pick up new skills, go and acquire the skills. You might need to pay some money to learn these skills but it is worth investing your time and money as you will figure it out. Keep experiencing different things. Do not fear failures. Great men failed multiple times before they could succeed. If you are new to the industry, find mentors and leverage on their skills and experience.

You don’t have to quit your current job to embrace your newfound passion. You can do it as a freelancer. Once you are confident with the business, you can go full-time and this could be your second career.

Constantly visualize the happiness in you, doing what you like to do. Understand the Law of Attraction, that is, positive thoughts attract positive energies. I found my passion 20 years ago, that is singing. Now, I am embracing my passion full-time, teaching voice. I found my purpose in life and am living my life to the fullest. I am sure you can too. If you enjoy what you are doing, you will not mind working for long hours because every second is an enjoyment.

Here is a step-by-step guide to find and live your life purpose:

- Find your passion – what do you like to do?

- List down all the positive barriers such as acquiring new skills. Invest in it if there is a need to.

- Start working on your passion. Seize opportunities. Look for mentors who can help you build your career.

- Don’t be afraid of failures. Experiment with different things. Learn from every failure.

- Set your goal and vision. Ensure your goal and vision points towards inspiring people and enriching others’ lives rather than mere monetary goals.

- Don’t worry about the outcome, just embrace and enjoy the process. If you are positive you will attract positive energy and good things will happen to you.

However, she does so quite powerfully in her book ‘The Secret’ citing people from various other fields who have acheived success by following the principles of the law of attraction and consequently, positive thinking.

Our friend Preeti from Vancouver, who finds this book a real inspiration and has become an evangelist for the principles described in the book, sent us the below summary of the key messages.

1. The great secret of life is the law of attraction. The law of
attraction says “like attracts like”, so when you think a thought, you
are also attracting like thoughts to you. Thoughts are magnetic, and
thoughts have a frequency. As you think thoughts, they are sent out
into the Universe, and they magnetically attract all like things that
are on the same frequency. Everything sent out returns to the source – you.

2. You are like a human transmission tower, transmitting a frequency
with your thoughts. If you want to change anything in your life,
change the frequency by changing your thoughts. Your current thoughts are creating your future life. What you think about the most or focus on the most will appear as your life.

3. Your thoughts become things!!

4. The law of attraction is a law of nature. It is as impartial as the
law of gravity. Nothing can come into your experience unless you
summon it through persistent thoughts.

5. To know what you’re thinking, ask yourself how you are feeling.
Emotions are valuable tools that instantly tell us what we are
thinking. It is impossible to feel bad and at the same time have good
thoughts.

6. Your thoughts determine your frequency, and your feelings tell you
immediately what frequency you are on. When you feel bad, you are on he frequency of drawing more bad things. When you feel good, you are owerfully attracting more good things to you.

7. The feeling of love is the highest frequency you can emit. The
greater the love you feel and emit, the greater the power you are
harnessing.

8. Like Aladdin’s Genie, the law of attraction grants our every
command. The Creative Process helps you create what you want in 3
simple steps: ask, believe, and receive. Asking the universe for what
you want is your opportunity to get clear about what you want. As you gt clear in your mind, you have asked. Believing involves acting,
speaking, and thinking as though you have already received what you’ve aked for. When you emit the frequency of having received it, the law of attraction moves people, events, and circumstances for you to receive. Receiving involves feeling the way you will feel once your desire has manifested. Feeling good now puts you on the frequency of what you want. Example, to lose weight, don’t focus on “losing weight”, instead focus on your perfect weight. Feel the feelings of your perfect weight, and you will summon it to you. It takes no time for the Universe to manifest what you want. It is as easy to manifest one dollar as it is to manifest one million dollars.

9. Starting with something small, like a cup of coffee or parking
spaces, is an easy way to experience the law of attraction in action.
Powerfully intend to attract something small. As you experience the
power you have to attract, you will move on to creating much bigger
things.

10. Create your day in advance by thinking the way you want it to go,
and you will create your life intentionally.
